A lot’s been going on in the past few months. I’ve been keeping things pretty quiet so far, but I can’t stand it any longer. It’s about time we get out of the shell and hatch already! Now the website is about as naked and ugly as a newly hatched parakeet, but everybody’s gotta start somewhere right? So I’ll get right to the point and tell you what I’ve been up to around here.
- Lots of critters on the critter page, with pictures! I still have profiles to update and pictures to add, so come back once a week to see another critter (I’m planning Mondays or Fridays, not sure yet).
- I have an about page! I plan on tweaking this to be a “start here” sort of page as I write more blog posts. How much do you want to know about me anyway? 😛
- Home page. A peak into the shop. This picture is a messy placeholder until I can polish it up with shading and all that good stuff.
This week’s goal…
- add another critter profile picture. I’m thinking something with feathers…can you guess which one it is? 😀
Bonus Question:
Any thoughts on the image above? Maybe all it needs is some lighting to tie it all together, but what do you think? I want to represent many critters from many time periods. 🙂
Thank you so much for visiting my little corner of the internet. It really means a lot to me. 🙂
Thank you, those are some good points.
Definitely important to be clear what the website is about. I know I hate being confused when I enter a site, so thank you for catching that!
As for the colors…it may be your computer, but I also just don’t have a lot of contrast yet. I know I want the logo to be prominent, but I’m not sure I want it to pop out quite that much! I’ll keep that in mind when I touch it up 🙂

I’d agree with that. Is it the kind of computer we use that makes the colors appear differently?

Looking good! I can’t wait to see the website in its finished splendor. :3 Though, I think you should have a clearer description as to what the website is for on the homepage. Usually I look for the about blurb of the website itself first, and the artist’s about page last.
Hmm…well, lots of dinosaurs have feathers, but I’m guessing it’s gonna be archaeopteryx! Also, I think the banner looks great so far. Not too crowded despite all of the different critters, which is good. Though, perhaps some of the colors should be a tiny bit more contrasted, so that the logo doesn’t pop out so much–unless that was your intention. If that’s the case, it’s fine as it is. ^^

Sorry if I end up double-posting. I am still figuring out how to do this. It looks great! If you ask me, it’s pretty much done. Maybe the background could be a little more colorful, but it really looks fine either way. I like the possum-looking thing!

Thank you! I’m glad you like it 🙂
The background is a little bland because there are so many critters in the foreground. But I’ll definitely keep that in mind when I put in the finishing touches, thank you! 🙂
Fun fact, that opossum/shrew thing is called Jiramaia. The first placental mammal (think rabbit, vs. a marsupial like a kangaroo) discovered so far. And it’s a Jurassic critter 😉
